Delicious I was looking for some authentic Mexican food near the hospital….. well this is literally the only place I’ve been eating! Everyday for 5 days and will be back again today. The salsa bar is on-point, the chips warmer is genius and the service is super friendly and helpful. Any recommend this place enough. Gracias!
Overview
Walking into Los Inmortales Taqueria feels like stepping into a neighborhood spot where regulars are greeted by name and newcomers are quickly welcomed by the smell of grilled carne asada and warm corn tortillas. I first stopped by on a busy weekday afternoon, expecting a quick lunch, and ended up staying longer than planned because the place has that easygoing energy that makes you want to slow down and enjoy your food. Located at 2598 Alta Arden Expy, Sacramento, CA 95825, United States, it’s easy to reach whether you’re coming from downtown or nearby residential areas.
What stands out immediately is how the menu balances simplicity with depth. Instead of overwhelming you with endless options, it focuses on classic Mexican street food done right. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and tortas anchor the offerings, and each item is built with fresh ingredients prepared daily. I watched the cooks press tortillas and slice vegetables behind the counter, which adds a layer of trust you don’t always get at casual diners. According to guidance from the USDA, freshly prepared foods with minimal processing retain more nutrients, and that freshness shows up clearly in both flavor and texture here.
During one visit, I ordered a trio of tacos-al pastor, chicken, and lengua-to get a real sense of the range. The al pastor had that perfect balance of smoky and sweet, while the chicken was juicy without being greasy. The lengua, often a test of a taqueria’s skill, was tender and richly seasoned. Friends who joined me opted for burritos and noted how evenly everything was layered, so each bite tasted intentional. That consistency matters, and it’s something professional chefs often emphasize in interviews with organizations like the James Beard Foundation, which highlights technique and balance as core markers of quality.
The dining experience isn’t just about the food, though. The atmosphere feels relaxed, with a steady mix of families, workers on lunch breaks, and late-night diners grabbing comfort food. The service is efficient without being rushed, and staff members are happy to explain menu items if you’re unsure what to order. Online reviews frequently mention this friendliness, and from my experience, that reputation is well earned. Consistent positive reviews across multiple platforms are often considered a strong indicator of reliability in the restaurant industry, something hospitality researchers frequently point out.
Another detail worth noting is portion size. The plates come out generously filled, which makes the prices feel fair, especially in a city where dining costs can add up quickly. Nutrition experts at the CDC often remind diners that balanced meals don’t have to be small to be sensible; it’s about quality ingredients and mindful eating. Here, the focus on grilled proteins, fresh toppings, and customizable salsas lets you tailor your meal to your preferences.
I’ve returned several times since that first visit, bringing coworkers and family members, and the experience has stayed consistent. That kind of reliability builds trust, especially for a local diner that depends on repeat customers. While no restaurant is perfect and wait times can stretch during peak hours, the food quality and welcoming vibe make it worth it. For anyone exploring Sacramento’s taqueria scene or looking for a dependable spot with authentic flavors, this location has proven itself through real experiences, thoughtful preparation, and a menu that keeps people coming back.

I have never been here before, and I was impressed! The young lady who greeted me was very polite, and after I ordered and sat down I was greeted with the best horchata I've ever had, in a tall frosted glass. A few minutes later, and my asada torta was set down, and I ate half and didn't have room for more. Great service, clean place, great food.
I come to this location once in a while for lunch. My food is always great. [My go to is Tacos] I like to dine-in if I have time in my work day. Def Recommend if your in the area.
Love this place hadn't been in a while. Disappointed that they only have tilapiafor fish tacos now but, just had the best veggie taco plate ever. Sooo yummy. Everything tasted super fresh. The ladies that took our orders were so very nice abd and hospitable. Great place to sit chat and enjoy a delicious meal. I tried their watermelon juice abd it was refreshing. The tacos were so packed and stacked you could barely pick them up to eat and fold them over. I had to scrape some filling onto my plate in order to pick up my tacos and bite them. We received a good amount of food so I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Their jalapeño ranch or white sauce is our favorite. I could slather that all over anything. The filling on my plate was scooped up with their crisp warm complementary tortilla chips & Salsa. We were stuffed by the time we sat, ate, and talked. They used to have a tiger fish & their fish tacos were my favorite. I'm primarily plantbased now but, I no longer eat tilapia or catfish.. The veggie tacos were perfect & stole the show. I can't wait to go back again.
The chicken quesadilla and veggie taco were so good! Also, the salsa bar was well stocked and very clean. The cashier and servers were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely return!
Excellent service and absolutely wonderful food! Everything was made fresh to order and tasted amazing. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were completely satisfied. Highly recommended!
From out of town. Stopped by for bfast. Huevos Rancheros was amazing. Loved the chip and salsa bar!!
We went on a Tuesday and I had their specials for that day. A street taco and a crispy taco. Both were very good. And the chips and salsa were also very good with a nice variety of salsas. I would recommend this place for authentic Mexican dishes.
